Experimental design
To reach our objectives, we will develop a multidisciplinary approach based on complementary methods (experimental evolutionary strategies, phenotypic analysis, whole genome sequencing, and genetic engineering) to decipher the influence of currently used immunosuppressants (alone or in combination) on stress adaptation, drug resistance, host-pathogen interactions, and genomic variations in A. fumigatus. Importantly, this project will decipher the impact of a broad array of natural and synthetic immunosuppressive compounds, thereby warranting the global outputs of our investigations. The AspergIS project is divided into 5 work packages (WP0 → 4, detailed below) that will be developed over 36 months.
